To The King of Pop — RIP Michael Jackson!

On June 25th, I sat in the Burbank airport waiting to board my flight to NY. I wasn’t paying much attention to the TV, but my head shot up when I heard the news of Farrah Fawcett passing away. I think everyone was aware she was in her final days and now I hope she’s resting in peace. I had no clue Michael Jackson had passed away until I landed in NY. I turned my phone on to see a text from Lek saying, “Michael Jackson died!” My first thought was, “nooo way! Are you serious? Is this a joke? The same day as Farrah Fawcett.” Well it was real, no joke, and yes, same day as Farrah Fawcett. I think it was the week of celebs dying. Ed McMahon and Billy Mays both passed away as well (may they rest in peace.)

Michael Jackson is thee king of pop. I grew up listening to his music, hearing stories, and I remember even attempting to do the Thriller dance (haha, didn’t work out well.) It’s sad it took death for many people to realize his brilliance. He gave so much, and always wanted change in the world. His talent will never compare to anyone else. Here are a few of my favorites, not all — the list would be too long. RIP M.J.
